The 4th Training School of the PROFEEDBACK network took place in Budapest from 16–20 June 2025, organised by HÉTFA Research Institute. The focus: practical, hands-on learning on key evaluation approaches.

Over three intensive days, 12 selected researcher and practitioner worked through real-life case studies, collaborated in group exercises, and sharpened their evaluation skills for real-world policy impact.

What We Covered:
Led by experts Marijana Sumpor (President of the Croatian Evaluation Society and director of the consultancy Euro ekspeetiza j.o.o.), Sari Rannanpää (Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare), and Kalterina Shulla (Technische Universität Dresden), the sessions explored:

  • Developing and testing Theory of Change models
  • Applying Contribution Analysis to complex interventions
  • Using Process Tracing to validate causal pathways
  • Mapping SDG interlinkages with systems thinking methods

The Training School concluded with participants presenting their evaluation designs at the PROFEEDBACK Conference 9, linking learning with policy dialogue and practice.
