After four years of inspiring collaboration, learning, and knowledge sharing, the Profeedback COST Action officially came to an end on 17 October 2025 — leaving behind a vibrant and connected community of evaluation professionals across Europe.

From its very beginning, Profeedback set out to do something ambitious: to bring together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from different disciplines and countries to strengthen evaluation culture and make policymaking more evidence-informed. Over the years, it grew into a real European hub for the evaluation community — a space for dialogue, exchange, and joint learning.

The Action created countless opportunities for cooperation: Working Groups, Conferences, Training Schools, peer-to-peer learning, joint publications and mobility grants gave participants hands-on experience and room for experimentation. Many young and early-career researchers found their first professional network, while experienced experts from across Europe discovered new perspectives and approaches.

The network placed special emphasis on supporting experts from Central and Eastern Europe, helping to connect diverse evaluation traditions, topics, and methodologies. By harmonising different fields — from economics and social sciences to data analytics and participatory research — Profeedback built bridges between theory and practice.

Although the formal project period has ended, members are already planning joint research and tender applications, new publications, and regular webinars to keep the exchange alive. The PROFEEDbase – the Action’s open database of evaluation professionals – will remain a key tool for finding partners, collaborators, editors, and experts across Europe.
